Sword of J,
I don't feel the love you should have for your "neighbors" coming from you....if fact you are quite harsh! Did you forget to wear your humble "new personality" coat today? If you were honest about your comments, one would think you would try to be an example of a loving witness, with a mild manner, and soothing to the soul. What a let down!

I'm just wondering...
Why would a JW be looking under the topic Dating, Relationships & SEX??
And, why under this thread title? Hmmm, I wonder what he's looking for....

Does leaving Jehovah's Witnesses ruin you
by kenpodragon inone of the things i hear mentioned a lot about being a jehovah's witnesses.
is that once you leave, it ruins you for all other religions.
as you think that you know all the faults of other religions, and could not put any faith in them.

Where I Went For Help.
by Sentinel insome of you have inquired of me as to how i've gotten "to this good place" in my life.
for awhile now, i've been wanting to take time and make a list of some of the books that i have read or am reading, books that are a part of my own personal self-help library.
i've read many others, in years prior, when i couldn't afford to purchase books, but had to get them from the library.. my first book was "i'm ok, you're ok".

D you meditate?
by Lost Diamond ini went to a seminar yesterday for work on how to manage stress.
the speaker was great...he is dr. mees, author of "wake up, america".. he stated how our diet, exercise, and meditation are very important for our own health.
he described the damage cocaine does to the heart muscles, which cannot be repaired and compared it to the damage stress does as well.

Totally happy in your marriage?
by Lost Diamond inhow many of you are totally, incredibly happy in your marriage?
how many of you feel that your spouse is your absolute soul mate and you couldn't even imagine your being married somebody else?
talking with the women at work, i'm surprised at how many are not totally happy.

Dede and Denny,
You two made my eyes well up with tears. You are truely blessed! I believe that's what a marriage should be. It's when you really enjoy each other's company and can't wait to be near that person. It's when you could smell the scent of your lover even with your eyes closed in a room full of people. It's when you both bring out the best in each other and cushion each other if you should ever fall.
Comf,
I also agree that some people are just cut out to enjoy life without a partner, and that's great too. But I believe there is always that possibility that someone will hit you like a bolt of lightening when you least expect it.
Ephanyminitas,
You are still so young. Just look at it as a time to get to know yourself better. Your relationship that fell through has taught you a valuable lesson I am sure. Although it can be extremely painful (I remember my first huge heartache), look at the postitive that you have learned from it. Take that with you when you find your "significant" other. The good thing about our heartaches is that there is always something valuable learned from it.

I am very happy with myself. There are a few things in my life that I would like to change that I am working on. There is always room for improvement, but as far as myself and the person that I am...I'd have to say yes, I am very happy.
I also like to read self-help books as I find I learn a lot of good information from them and they help to tune into what's really important in my life. I like to feel that I can also be a friend to others and help them if I can....this makes me feel more of a valuable person. If I can help people feel better about themselves and put a smile on someone's face...then I feel I have succeeded.

I really do believe that mediation helps curb pain. Dr. Mees made a comment that when he visits the dentist and needs some dental work done, he never uses novicane. He simply works on his meditation.
When I had my two children, on both occassions I did the deep breathing mediation excersie which helped me deliver my children without pain medication of any kind. I just sat on a rocking chair and told all the nurses to just let me be (except when they had to hook me up to the machine to check my baby's breathing).
All went very well as far as the pain went. My son was born with Macodium (sp?) and was in ICU for 4 days, but that was for a whole different reason. I didn't feel the need to scream or carry on because I felt that I was in total control of the whole situation. The pain just wasn't as bad as I had thought it would be. My son was born in 9 hrs, and my daughter whom I had 3 yrs. later was born in 3 hrs. I was very surprised how well deep breathing and meditation worked for me.
